The Lead Aircraft Records Specialist invests in the future of Southwest’s People by supporting the Aircraft Records Department at the Orlando (MCO) Station. This role ensures all functions of Sout hwest Aircraft Rec ords are maintained while coaching their Team and increasing produc tivity and eff icienc y . Responsibilities

Responsible for the completion of daily work, overall performance, job oversight, and direct coaching of Aircraft Records Department personnel

Provide Supervisor/Manager Aircraft Records input regarding personnel performance for evaluation and feedback on behaviors that could result in disciplinary action

Perform activities to contribute to Team members development; including but not limited to: train and oversee assigned personnel, holding Team meetings, approve vacations, time off, unscheduled PTOs, determine priorities of workload, and monitor sick leave of Team Members

Communicate Company goals, safety practices, and deadlines with designated Records Team

Coordinate completion of activities involved in the timely collection, administration, storage and retention of aircraft maintenance records and airworthiness documentation for aircraft, major assemblies and components in accordance with 14 CFR 121.380 and 121.709

Ensure aircraft maintenance data is accurately and completely recorded in SWA Computerized Data Collection System – CDCS in accordance with Supervisor/Manager guidelines

Oversee the completion of CDCS transactions for rotable components, including validation of aircraft and assembly part number effectivity and compliance status records are maintained for hard time and life limited parts

Establish and implement departmental Employee training programs, within Supervisor/Manager direction, to ensure Aircraft Records personnel are properly instructed and are working in compliance with the procedures stated in SWA Maintenance Procedures Manual - MPM

Execute departmental audit procedures to monitor the integrity of data in CDCS, relative to aircraft records administration

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of aircraft maintenance or similar technical documentation

Knowledge of retention policies for aircraft maintenance documentation or similar record-keeping

Knowledge of resource allocation and coordination of People and resources

Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Skilled in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things

Skilled in Microsoft Suite products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to effectively and appropriately interact/communicate with peers

Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense

Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing

Ability to assume a high level of responsibility

Ability to partner and work effectively with Managers and Directors to develop and implement departmental and Company plans and strategies

Ability to effectively and appropriately interact with peers, Senior Level Managers, and outside service providers

Ability to maintain confidentiality of special research projects, investigations, and Employee discipline processes Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
Use of an integrated aircraft maintenance data collection and tracking system
14 CFR 121 Air Carrier, Aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturer, airline industry supplier or vendor, or similar industry where record-keeping is essential
Licensing/Certification

Physical Ability
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Requires shift work schedules, including weekend, holiday and occasional mandatory overtime
May require shift changes periodically
Must be able to work extended hours as necessary to meet deadlines
Must be able to travel, up to 25%, with some overnight stays to meet the requirements of the position

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $72,800 per year to $80,900 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
