To support Danske Bank on its strategic journey and embedding strong risk culture, we wish to strengthen our Non-Financial Risk Nordics Team with Senior Non-Financial Risk Specialist.
Senior Non-Financial Risk Specialist
Non-Financial Risk (NFR) is a 2 line of defence (LoD) function within Group Risk Management responsible for setting standards, advising and overseeing non-financial risk management across the Group. The NFR is responsible for maturing the non-financial risk discipline and strives to activate benefits of learnings from events and self-assessments.
We are looking for a colleague to join the NFR Nordics team consisting of 6 skilled professionals in Finland, Norway and Sweden. The team is focusing on Nordic and country responsibilities across all relevant business units and subsidiaries. The team is an integral part of the Group team “NFR Personal Customers, Business Customers & Nordics”, which has 18 experienced risk specialists in total working in four countries (Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden).
We are offering a great opportunity to work with a broad range of interesting, challenging and hot topics with Group, Nordics and country level impact and directly supporting the Group’s strategic deliveries. The country responsibilities are covering the Danske Bank A/S Finland branch as well as the local subsidiaries.
As you will be part of NFR, you will participate in setting the agenda on risk management and enabling business to sustainably create value to our customers.
You will collaborate closely with a vast network of stakeholders ranging from specialists to management across the Group – both 2nd line functions and 1st line business units.
The open position is located in Helsinki, Finland, together with some of your NFR and 20 other supportive Group Risk Management colleagues.

What will be your key responsibilities
- Oversee, support and challenge the 1st LoD in NFR framework implementations, risk assessments, control environment, product approvals and event escalations.
- Increase NFR awareness and support a sound risk culture in Finland and across the Nordics.
- Build and maintain a wide network of stakeholders within 2nd line NFR and across business units and functions.
- Identify and understand market area and business unit characteristics and risks.
- Participate in internal and external reporting, including regulatory reporting.
- Participate in local and other fora, committees and projects when deemed relevant.
What we will imagine you to have in the role
- Higher educational degree in a suitable field (e.g. Master’s degree in Technology, Business Administration or Economics).
- Over 5 years of experience in Risk Management, or alternatively from Compliance, Internal audit, Consultancy or Financial Supervision.
- Experience from Banking or Financial sector.
- Solid stakeholder management skills with a problem-solving attitude.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills in Finnish and English, which is the working language of the Group.
- Courage to speak up and challenge in a constructive way.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Curious and open mind.
- Team Up attitude.
